We reduce costs by relying extensively on volunteers. This allows grant and donated money to fund program needs and extends the amount of service provided to seniors, disabled and/or low income people. Volunteers are used in many capacities including drivers for the medical van taking veterans and disabled to Portland for treatment, drivers for the food bank food recovery program, people to sort and repack food in the food bank, office assistants, instructors for self-sufficiency and food classes, mentors for youth, and many more seasonal and on-going projects.

Volunteering at YCAP is giving back to your community, helping low income people, seniors and disabled people through a difficult time. But it can also provide the volunteer with new skills, new friends and a new purpose in life. It is about community and making the world a better place. You are a valuable asset and your time is a welcome addition to YCAP and the community we serve!
